Why We're Launching TEC Talks

Alex Fulcher | 06 Feb, 2025 |

The team at 2iC-Care are excited to announce that we are launching TEC Talks – a short series of three focused yet casual; online discussions that tackle the most pressing challenges in care delivery.

Recent data demonstrates the transformative impact of technology solutions in care settings. Cornwall's 'Living Well' programme achieved a 49% reduction in hospital admissions, while Mole Valley's preventative approach resolved 91% of cases without escalation. The TEC Disruptors Forum 2024 reported a compelling 3:1 return on investment from preventative approaches.

Why These Three Topics Matter

Our first focus is evidence-based reablement. Traditional approaches rely heavily on periodic assessments, missing opportunities for more responsive care. When services implement continuous monitoring, the results are significant – York University found a 60% reduction in care provision costs. This translates to more people maintaining independence while optimising resource allocation.

Proactive care represents the next evolution in service delivery. Take The Wirral's recent success: data from Andi detected early signs of a kidney infection through changed bathroom usage patterns, preventing hospital admission. This kind of early intervention not only improves outcomes but also reduces pressure on acute services.

The digital transition also presents both challenges and opportunities. As Mark Baker from Mole Valley Life explains, "Don't waste your budget on the digital version of analogue; make it work for you by spending it on Andi and adding preventative and proactive to your toolbox." This transition offers an opportunity to fundamentally enhance care capabilities.

Perfect Timing for ITEC 2025

We've timed these TEC Talks to help you prepare for the ITEC 2025, happening March 17-18 at ICC Birmingham. This year's theme - "Transforming Lives Through Digital Innovation: Unlocking Insights, Building Knowledge, Improving Outcomes" - perfectly aligns with our series focus.

Joining us for the TEC Talks, you'll arrive at ITEC equipped with practical knowledge about implementing digital innovation in care delivery. You'll understand how services are unlocking insights from data, building knowledge through evidence-based approaches, and improving outcomes through proactive and preventative care. Visit us at Stand 28 during ITEC to see these solutions in action and continue the conversations started in our TEC Talks series.

TEC Talks

The impact of intelligent TEC solutions extends far beyond statistics. Our case studies consistently show how seemingly small changes create significant improvements in people's lives. One service user avoided a hospital stay when Andi detected increased bathroom visits enabling care teams to spot early signs of a kidney infection, while another maintained independence longer through personalised reablement monitoring. These success stories demonstrate the real-world value of continuous monitoring and early intervention.

Each 25-minute session, led by industry experts Hollie Jamison and Danny Shephard, includes dedicated Q&A time where participants can address their specific challenges. We'll explore common implementation hurdles and practical solutions, drawing from experiences across different care settings to build a community of digital care innovation.

While digital transformation drives these changes, people remain at the heart of everything we do. Better technology means care teams can focus more on direct care and less on administrative tasks, while families gain peace of mind knowing their loved ones are being monitored effectively. Most importantly, service users maintain dignity and independence while receiving the right level of support at the right time.
